Individuals will need different amounts of lessons before passing their test.
In a survey the DVSA found that most people required 45 hours tuition and 22 hours practice.

You can start studying for your theory test straight away.
Most people find it helps them with their driving skills because they understand driving better.
Make sure you are fully prepared for your theory test. The pass mark is 43 out of 50 for the theory questions and 44 out of 75 for the hazard perception.
When you are preparing aim for close to top marks, good training material will tell you were your strengths and weakneses are so you know which questions to study.

Most people prefer to take their test in their instructors car. They feel most confortable in it and want to have their instructor with them on the day.
However you can take the test in your own car as long as it meets the requirements.
